Savannah is the oldest city in Georgia, so it goes without saying that the historic district has lots of, you guessed it, history! One of the fastest ways to learn about its history is by taking a tour! Have your pick between a trolley tour, horse and carriage or pedicab.
Founded in 1919, Leopold’s is one of the oldest ice cream shops in Savannah! There’s always a line out the door full of dessert enthusiasts happily waiting for a scoop or two. While you’re there, try the lemon custard. It’s my favorite!
There’s so much to do on the island besides your regular beach activities you can take a tour to the top of the oldest and tallest lighthouse in Georgia. Try some fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants on the island. Oh, and fun fact: many films were made there including The Last song and Gemini man just to name a few.
